Transformation Scroll

I'm going back home from some place out of it. I believe I was in a hospital, for some reason, but apparently only visiting or something similar, as I was completely healthy. It was an afternoon, and I hadn't eaten anything yet, so I figured I'd grab something to eat on the way. I was on foot, and remembered that on the way home there were several little restaurants and coffee shops, so I'd easily find a place to eat. This, in fact makes no sense with RL. Not only my street was nothing like the one I was in, there aren't so many places to eat around here (sure, there are some good ones, but not so many and not so small).

I cross at an intersection and start walking up the steep street. I pass by several places, until I enter one that seems clean and good enough (the others didn't seem quite healthy). I can't seem to find the name of the place, neither what was their specialty. I walk up to the counter, where there are several plates with fruits, ham and other ingredients sliced and diced. I ask the guy around the counter (short curly hair, tan skin, around my age, maybe a little older) what food they had. He says it, but I don't understand the name. Still, he doesn't seem to notice my confusion and continues the explanation. It was some kind of fried food which you could pick the filling, which could be sweet or salty. I figured he was talking about pastel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastel_%28food%29), a really common and popular kind of pastry here in Brazil. I though "Sure, what the heck, right?" Still, something felt off, and it wasn't only the awkwardness of the scene. It was as if I had missed something important.

I wanted one with cheese and guava jelly. The mix was on a dish among the others in the counter, and looked downright delicious. I also ask for a Coca-Cola can. He takes me to a table, but something happens and I get somewhere else. I spend a few minutes exploring some backrooms in the restaurant, though it's kinda vague now. Finally, I leave them and go through a big open area with wooden floor and tables. It feels quite good here, and I'm surprised, as this area couldn't be seen from the outside, making the place look smaller. The waiter comes over with the food, and I take a seat at an empty table. He sets the food and the Coke and leaves. I look at my plate and rather than a pastel, it looks like some kind of crepe.

Oh well, whatever. I try to pick it up, but then something crazy happens. It unfolds around itself, transforming into some kind of scroll which floats in front of my face, a few inches on the air away from the table. The filling, now red, dark red and black (?) moves through the scroll and forms drawings and arcane symbols. So this was it... the place was a cover for a place where people could buy magic scrolls! That was genius! Still, I was a bit weirded out by the whole thing. On the end of the scroll, an outline of a symbol seems to move slightly. I figure it was asking me to complete the scroll, "drawing" onto it with my finger. I make the movement following the faded form, which looked like the Japanese hiragana "tsu". As I slide my finger on the scroll, it completes the drawing in dark red, and when it's done it shines. I knew this was a transformation scroll, and was now going to take effect. I don't remember if anything was actually transformed.
