I'm arriving with a friend in an underwater area. We are in a car, but somehow, it works as a submarine. We seem to be under the sea, but the nearby area is reasonably elevated, so it's only a few meters below the surface of the sea - the sunlight still reaches the area considerably. On this platform (underground rock formation?) is a wooden, common looking house. Despite being under the sea, the area inside it, as far as the roof reaches, is dry, as if there was some sort of massive air bubble. On the "yard", which was mostly rock covered by water, I could see a formation that seemed to have been, in the past, a pool. Now it was some kind of pit, as I didn't seem to be the bottom of it.
Now, we didn't pay attention to the house for long, as a huge creature appeared. It was a large abyssal fish. It was bigger than our car, around 6-7 feet tall and 8-9 feet long. It wasn't buff, but the mouth was enough to kill someone in a bite, with the large, sharp-looking teeth. His huge, round eyes were white - he was clearly blind, and though he looked a lot like an abyssal fish, it didn't have that shining appendage. We were awestruck, but seconds later our attention shifted to another creature that had just arrived. It is hard to explain, but it looked like a horse pulling a chariot or carriage, except the horse was some kind of green amphibian being. It had scales, and the rear legs and tail were merged with the "carriage", which was actually a big pale blob of some kind. The blob had no scales, and parts of the skin were longer, looking like pieces of cloth that would move as it swam around, like a long dress wavering in the wind.
We surely were scared, as we didn't know if they were dangerous. The Chariot approaches the Fish, and seems to study it for a while. I catch a glimpse of movement to my right. There was a green creature the size of a big human, but bulkier. It had a thick skin that seemed to be loose from its flesh, and it was thick and reptilian. The hands and feet were claw-like, and the head looked like an octopus. It approached the others and the three broke into a fight. Only then I realized amusedly that the third monster looked an awful lot the drawings of Lovecraft's Cthulhu ( s1600/cthulhu02.jpg), albeit on a more... reasonable size. Me and my friend figured it wasn't safe to stay around, so we headed to the house. I remember wondering how we'd get out, as water would come in if I opened the door. Somehow, we parked and got in the house.
I don't actually remember going in, but my first memory out of the water is being in front of the entrance of the house. As I mentioned before, there was some space out of the house that was in the dry area, due to the extended roof. Right in front of us was this one human guy, and a few feet away, looking at the yard (and the monsters, some meters away from it) was another man. The first one saw us, but we knew we couldn't let him alert others. No one could find out we were here. He tried to scream, but my friend seized him. We then exchanged the hold and my friend went for the other. I believe I somehow got him in a choke hold, as he passed out. My friend seized the other and pushed him into the water, in the area on the pool/pit. He seemed to fall down endlessly in it - I supposed that it was impossible to swim up from it, for some reason. We dragged the other man that way, but he struggled, finally, we overpowered him and threw him in the pit as well.
And that's where things began to get weirder. The door to the house - which I knew wasn't really a house, but the entrance to a much larger realm - opened. From it emerged two women who seemed to be in their late 20s, early 30s, but both astonishingly beautiful. It really doesn't make much sense, but they weren't beautiful by their looks. It was beyond it. Sure, they were attractive, but their presence was so strong it was both terrifying and beautiful. Perhaps their power made them attractive. They were followed by 4-6 girls who looked mostly the same, were smaller and looked a little younger, but we gave them no attention - we couldn't. The two women looked at us and we could feel as if their stare was burning into us. They had evil, sadistic crooked smirks and we knew we were in trouble. They were the ones we were evading before. But I also knew there was no way to escape them, that since we had come here, we would eventually meet them.
Both were blond, pale and seemed to be wearing too much black eyeshadow. They all were these steampunk-like clothes, and it fit them well. One of Them was clearly the leader, which didn't mean the second-in-command was any less terrifying. The leader took my friend to a corner, and she stood really close to him, but I couldn't see what she was doing or hear her. The other beckoned for me to approach her, and I knew I had to do as she said, or we'd both be dead. Somehow, inside my mind, I knew They weren't human, but They weren't monsters either. They were much above us, above everything we know as living, and to them we were powerless, and could be destroyed as soon as they wanted to. But there was a reason we had come here. There was something only them could do. Some kind of favor. So we had to endure, we had to gain their respect, or, at least, their curiosity, or else we'd be dead within the next minutes. Or seconds.
The woman I approached had a more rockstar-like style. Her hair was messy, which gave her an 80's rock girl style, along with the eyeshadow. She stared at my face with her smirk, and I dared not blink. She lifted her right hand and touched my face lightly. I could barely breath, and the silence was killing me. She smiled sweetly. If for a second I felt safe, the next words made me feel as if I was sinking. "Vou marcar vocĂȘ" ("I'm going to brand you.") She lifted her left hand now, and for the first time I noticed that her long, pale fingers were actually abnormally long. They ended in thick, black stubs with long nails that protruded an inch away. She touched the side of my face and neck, and I could feel my skin burning slightly.
I endured the pain. More than ever, I knew I shouldn't blink. She moved her fingers around my face, as if caressing me, as if studying where she would leave her mark. My mind was racing, and I was thinking about if the mark meant those little burns or not, but I knew they weren't it. I was trying to fool myself. Her hand slowly moved to my forehead. She grinned with sadistic satisfaction and forced her thumb against it. I could feel - hell, I could see - as she pressed it against my forehead, first with a horizontal line burning my skin, roughly an inch long, then a vertical line, a little bigger. She had marked me with a cross, and this time the burning really hurt, yet I was too scared to move, wince or even blink. I was christened by... Her, whatever she was. She backed away and looked with satisfaction at her work, seeming proud of herself and, strangely, proud of me. Perhaps she thought I was worthy. Regardless, what they did now was let the two of us go - my friend was unscathed.
But we went back. It sounds crazy, and possibly is, but we went back. We learned more about Them, and found out, for example, that those creatures from before seemed to act as guards and protect them and their realm from invaders (we had more trouble avoiding them, too). At first, we had the excuse that brought us there at first. But for me, really, it was all about meeting Her again. I had to meet her. I had to ask her why, see her again. And - although I was afraid of myself for being this way - I believe I had fallen in love with her. It wouldn't be so easy to meet her again, though. We never managed to get into the house. Others like Them lived there. Males, too. I remember seeing two of them, in their fancy Victorian suits and with their mustaches. Unlike the females, though, they weren't attractive or "perfect". They were brute, and while they clearly had the inhuman, terrifying atmosphere about them, I could face them. I would talk and discuss with them (though quite heatedly). It's vague now, but the only thing that stopped me from being killed by them, during a discussion, was, apparently, the females. Perhaps we really had caught their interest.
