I was hanging out with a group of friends who were older than me. They were in their 30s or so, and were 5 or 6 guys and girls. We were walking in a shopping mall and talking. I didn't know them very well, but something seemed strangely familiar about them. As we talked, some jokes they made seemed awfully familiar. At some point, I quickly joked about a comment someone made, making them look at each other in surprise and laugh. It then dawned on me - we were in a sitcom. Rather, they were sitcom characters (one of them looked a lot like Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother) and I was somehow reliving parts of the series.
I remembered my brother had told me about this series (false memory), and the way he had reacted on several points. That's why I was so fast with those jokes, and that's why they acted so surprised when I suddenly reacted accordingly. I remember at some point someone had been hit on the head with a fern plant, and I joked about it being some kind of camouflage. They stifled a laugh, finding it hilarious while I didn't actually think it was that good. Interestingly, I thought to myself that we were in Season 1, while the series was actually much ahead - my brother was apparently watching Season 4.
