I'm entering a Japanese restaurant with some other people and, specifically, this girl, who pretty much led the group. Everyone on the restaurant seemed to know and like her very much. We were greeted by everyone. I remember even greeting an elderly woman in Japanese - apparently, I wasn't sure what to say, but the greeting was written in Japanese nearby, so I just read it out loud. Seemed to work, though I wasn't sure. We were taken to a special room in the back which was completely customized to look like traditional Japanese houses. We sat on these small cushions on the floor around a short table. I worried for a moment that there wouldn't be room for everyone, but I supposed they'd take care of that, so I gave no second thoughts. The "leader" girl seemed worried. The elderly woman from before, who seemed to know her so well, came up and they started talking. They went on and on about this special ritual. They had a fancy word for it, but I wasn't sure what it meant. Another girl motions to me, explaining silently that it was a Sake-tasting ritual, pretty much like the tea rituals Japanese have. I wondered - I knew they sometimes made a big deal out of sake, but didn't know there was a ritual around it.
