There is this angry, annoying woman who I seem to live with or at least have to put up with frequently. She enjoys bullying others and ordering people around, and strangely she always finds herself in a superior position. Every time we plan to thwart her, she finds out or schemes mysteriously and foils our plans. We soon find out that she can read minds. Apparently, the mind reading has a limited area, but mostly she can know anything you are thinking, so since anyone would remember the plans against her just by seeing her, she'd always know if there was something planned for her.

I try staying away from her as much as I can and make several new friends. It gets confusing and repetitive for a while, but mostly it was day-to-day scenes of me avoiding her or talking to people. Eventually, though, we find out it was worse than we thought - she wasn't alone. Several people, including some that were supposedly my friends, were evil mind readers that were plotting along with her. They'd always communicate any suspicious behavior to one another. When I tried confronting them about their powers, it didn't really help. Rather, it made the actions of their evil network more blatant.

At some point, a black guy around my age that I didn't know pulls me to a corner so the evil woman can't hear (or mind-read) us. He explained me that there was a secret technique that would make us immune to their powers: it involved using some kind of needle and pricking our fingers in certain ways. Just by doing that, they wouldn't be able to hear our thoughts and we'd gain the upper hand. He did it on me right then, and I went on to confront the evil woman. I spoke to her, and quickly her evil smile faded as she realize she couldn't hear my thoughts. She started to avoid me. Now I could plan to overthrow her without worrying.

I soon found that others began to avoid me as well. The other mind readers seemed confused and in a way seemed to fear me. They'd avoid me and apparently some "normal" people too (or perhaps they worked for the mind readers, I don't know).
