I'm in a place that is supposedly my house, or possibly my old apartment, as the room my brother was in looked like his old one. He's here with these two Asian girls. I approach to talk to him and he yells at me angrily, telling me to leave him be. I'm a little annoyed, but I still stay around. He's sitting on the desk, writing on a paper, apparently, with the girls seating one at each side, watching and talking. I find two flashlights nearby. One is a metal one we have IRL, the other was white plastic. I pick it up and find it incredibly strong for a flashlight. My brother starts yelling again, in a really hostile way. I'm annoyed and even offended. The girls seem to hide chuckles. I feel like a child (or possibly I was younger?), with people treating me like an annoyance. I leave.
Later, I'm in what seems to be a library or a bookstore. I'm walking around with several children. I'm my RL age now, and the oldest around. I'm supervisioning the kids, mostly, and there's a feeling of respect as I'm the oldest, and also the one "in charge". We start climbing the bookshelves and jumping around. It's incredibly easy for us to do it, though I seem to do it with more ease than the others (part of the respect that attributed to me).
Lightning Dreamwork
I felt good, climbing around like that. Felt powerful, unlike during the "child" part.
Possibly. I see this dream as a big metaphor to growing up. At first, I'm the younger brother - I have no respect, and I have to accept whatever my family and society (my brother and the girls) tell me, and I have no respect from any of them. If I try to go for the light - knowledge, growing - they cut me down before I can have it.
Then I grow up, take responsibilities (taking care of the kids), acquire knowledge (the books, bookshelves), which allow me to be respected and acknowledged by others (the children). The climbing on the shelves may also refer to personal growth, or at least achieving new "heights" and places by use of my acquired abilities and knowledge.
