I'm listening to a student of mine, who I'll call Y.

I can only hear them:

"Sometimes, in my dreams ..."

and in the shift of a tense you might expect from a Grade 2 student,

"I started writing 'The Moon' "

Lightning Dreamwork

Feelings: 

I felt good.

Reality Check: 

I recognise the writing element. I've been preparing a different type of homework for my students: centered around writing from a central topic, so the fact that a student is talking about a central topic for writing is significant.

Knowing More: 

I don't think there's anything else I need to do. I'm interested in why this particular student was the one writing the message though.

Honouring the Dream: 

The first topic of our writing homework will be "The Moon". I'm happy with this dream! I was wondering where to start, now I have an answer.
