I'm observing the scene of a discovery. It looks like an old tunnel, the kind through which run-off water might run. The atmosphere is quiet and everyday. Trees and soil make up the picture. The tunnel is small. You might even call it a drain. One could walk a few metres and reach the other end, though you would have to squeeze on your knees. Peering in, I see that something from the past remains here. Cracking through the upper edge of the tunnel, are the remains of an old railroad. 100 years later or so, it seems it has made itself visible again. There is something special about this discovery - a feeling that there is more to this railroad than meets the eye, that it might tell a hidden history.
Comments: I related this dream to Robert Moss' writing about The Underground Railroad of Dreams, a story he tells about a black slave Harriet Tubman who relied on her dreams to help her to freedom 100 or so years ago. I also see his writing about "The Underground Railroad of Dreams" in a general sense - as a tale that helps us to see the hidden power/potential of dreams, and the way they have affected our lives. In reflecting on this, I wonder if this dream might be a suggestion that there are other similar stories, waiting to be discovered.

Actually didn't you have this dream before Robert Moss commented on Harriet Tubman?
