Intention: My intention for the night was to dream for the classes I was going to take the following morning.

I'm walking through a room. It's a bright, exciting place - full of bold, sparkly colours.

Then, a thought enters my mind. I start to think about the prep class I'll be taking the following morning. Not so much deliberated thought, as a response to a stimulus in the world around me. This room reminds me of the girls from the class, most of whom are from Africa, are Muslim, and dress in very colourful clothing. It strikes me that this kind of design is what they're used to - what get's their attention.

I think of the maths activity on Shape that I'll be doing the following morning. In my minds eye, without any effort on my part, I start to see a creation - a pattern of different circular shapes placed around a central circle, in some kind of rhythmic order. Different shapes meeting and interfacing with another, to create something like a mandala.

It strikes me that this is the direction I need to move in.

Feelings: Guided, Supported.

Reality Check: There was no particular association to the scenery in this dream. More so, the shapes and the patterns. Just seeing them, made me think of more interesting ways of doing maths.

Comments: This was a subtle, inspiring dream. It gave me the energy to create a maths worksheet of my own, for the prep class I was taking in the morning. I simplified the ideas from the dream, and turned it into a simple worksheet where the children repeated a pattern in which they might see the shapes, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE, SQUARE. The key that I incorporated was that of colour. Each shape had to be filled with a different colour, according to a legend that they created at the top of the page. All in all a very useful dream.
