I'm in the ktichen of my homestay family in Guatemala. The mum and dad are speaking to me, and we are getting along and communicating more. Where before they seemed a little stern/distanced, it feels like things were just taking a natural course, and that the wait was worth it.

Gardually as they speak, their appearance becomes more familiar to me. Now I see not a Guatemalan husband and wife, but a man from the US. Seated round the kitchen, I can still feel the presence of a family.

Tanned, with long hair, and a kind of worldy look about him, he begins to tell me about the beauty of the place, or what made it so attractive for him and his family.

The man tells me,

"We decided to stay and ride the light-wave"

These words feel important. In that moment I can sense the energy of the shift the Maya have talked about. I am thinking seriously to myself - wow this is the kind of lifeI live for. And yet in the same moment, I feel drawn back to Melbourne - knowing that I have much to do there.

In the background, a mysterious, psychedeic type music wafts into the room, leaving me wondering again.
