German Shepherd Returns

I'm walking out the driveway out my family house (out in the bush). I'm fully lucid.

I have a very strong sensation of what it is to be "spiritual" in this moment. It's like I know the important of fully immersing myself in life - as though I can also recognise what it would be like to be "dead", and can truly appreciate the gift that is awareness.

I walk down the driveway - very receptive to my environment. Things are totally still - just like usual, but it's night time so more intense.

Looking to my right I can see a big dog - a German Shepherd. I think back to a dream which seems to have occurred earlier in the night. I seem to know that this dog would be waiting for me here as a guide, like it was already promised. I walk towards the German Shepherd - still a little nervous. Sure it's a protector, but I'm cautious in my approach.

Suddenly I hear something coming, and it makes me nervous. The dog can feel the fear in me - it starts yelping/barking nervously. I realise I have to be brave. I go up to the German Shepherd and hold it, keeping it close to me. We look out at the scene around us. I feel closer now/safer.

An aboriginal man approaches - seemingly connected with the car.

At the end of the dream, I hear words akin to ...

"Usually you fulfill the mission, and then .. you do something". It seems to be emphasising the need to take action.

Comments: To be honest, I'm really not sure what this dream was about. The main thing I got from it was this

- a feeling of trust and connection to the German Shepherd.

Writing the dream down, I am reminded how when I was young one of my biggest fears were "dogs". The problem was you'd walk around the local dirt roads that went between houses, and never knew if a big dog was going to start barking at you. Often because the fences weren't even that well secured it may even come right up to you.

One of the big dogs I got to know was that of a friend from primary school. I remember it, because it essentially served the role of guard dog, but could also be quite warm and friendly. It too was a German Shepherd. I recall going to this friends house many times when I was young, so it makes me wonder if this is how I eventually got over some of my fears around dogs. It's great that German Shepherd returned as a guide in this dream.

Nice dream Nick!

If this were my dream I would interpret as the dog being some kind of unknown situation or scary situations where I'm really not sure what is going to happen.  But if you are brave and are willing to give it a try, it may end for the better!

Yup. Can feel that.

My confrontations with the dog in dreams are often about confronting and working with my feel. I felt I was making some positive steps in this dream.

Thanks.

There's some kind of idea about empowerment. Whaterver you do, the mission, that is, that's not the final objective. The things you fulfill lead you to greater objectives ("and then... you do something"), I suppose.
