I'm with an assistant principal from one of the school's I've been working at. I'm talking with him, and something comes up. I feel a little like I've let him down, but it feels like a decision I have to make.

The dream seems to hold still for a moment. I know that I have to go out alone, on an adventure. It feels like a significant stage of my life. I am putting a question (in the broadest possible sense) out to the world, and what I experience from here on in will be my answer.

I become lucid at this point, and find myself dazzled by the sight that opens up before me. I feel like I'm looking at a scene from some 1000-1500 years ago, in China. Beautiful big stone walls, layered, leading all the way down a mountain. I begin to scuttle down this scene, flying down and down...

It feels mysterious. I'm excited at the thought of what dwells below. Will I make it down there? Or will I wake up first? I'm relieved that my lucidity level doesn't seem to be showing any signs of dropping.

I push on through a less "well-built" section, where all that exists is but a dirt path, surrounded by darkness. Finally, I reach the ending of the path.

Here I see a lake. I have this sense of something approaching. It's the kind of wind that makes me nervous.

Now things start to rise out of the big lake. A pair of split, metal semi-circle shaped rings, (joined at the back), that move like robots towards me. First one then another. They're a little similar to handcuffs, but with a little more personality. They seem symbolic in their appearance.

I stand at the base of the lake, and these metal feet suddenly bite around my ankles. I begin to realise I can't move so easy. Infact, these things are latching on. I can't get rid of them.

I hear the voice of the dream speak to me of them now,

"Genuine vultures...
A little touristy".

Comments: This dream seemed like something of a warning. At the beginning of the dream I'm putting out a question to the world. This is a little like how I feel about my trip to Guatemala that I'll be making in three weeks. I can't pin down the reasons, but after this dream, I realised how much some part of me needed to do it.

So, given that I feel the dream's about Guatemala, I can't help but interpret the ending of the dream in a particular manner. I know of a lake near where I'll be staying called Lake Atitlan that this section could be a reference to. I can't help but wonder if the dream is a warning of some kind of tourist scam to watch out for. I saw a few of those last time I was there.
