I'm travelling down a dirt road that wheels it's way through a mountainous area.
There
is a man talking to me. He seems familiar, older. He is telling me
about "feet" and their significance in the world of the Mayan people. I
think he relates a personal story of healing.
Whatever
the case - the story is told in such a manner, that it actually wakes
me up within the dream. I become lucid, and start thinking about what
he has just told me.
For some reason, I am
thinking of the "clefts" in Mayan imagery/symbols and am relating this
back to the "feet" that the man was telling me about. I can still hear
him with me - almost accompanying me in my travels.
I
veer slightly from the road, and find myself moving into the
mountainous area that the road passes. Looking up and in the direction
of the road, I can see old Mayan temples, on the sides of the
mountains. It's very beautiful, and I am taking great pleasure in
simply absorbing the experience.
Music
plays in the background of the dream - providing a rhythm for my gentle
flight. It reminds me of the music of the Andes, a guitar or other
string-like instrument is the center of attention. The music is
beautiful - and I am saying out loud - "my heart feels quite ecstatic".
So ecstatic in fact, that I start to wonder about where I am - dreaming of course - I wake up.
1. Feelings:
The gentle afterglow of an exciting, ecstatic experience.
2. Reality Check:
Mayan
temples - I'm pretty sure the man was talking about Mayan culture. I
have been considering going to Mexico/Guatemala in November to explore
these things, so the fact that the theme showed up in this lucid dream
seemed important.
Feet - I looked up "feet" in connection with "mayan", and found an interesting article by John Major Jenkins:
http://www.redicecreations.com/specialreports/2006/07jul/mayanlord2012.html
Bolon Yokte means bolon (nine), y- (plural), ok
(foot), -te (tree). Although bolon means “nine,” the word is a
homophonous pun for balan (jaguar). Mayan folklore and hieroglyphic
texts often combine the two designations, for dramatic effect or for
emphasising how the Jaguar God is one of the nine Lords of the Night
(the Underworld). [12] Thus, we have an alternate identification for
the Creation Lord Bolon Yokte which means something like “jaguar at the
foot/feet of the tree.”
Learning
more about 2012 and the world age changes understood by the Maya to
occur at this time is one of the reasons I would like to go to
Mexico/Guatemala, so it's interesting that the term occurred in this
context.
The man - The man kind of reminded
me of John (dreamster) from Sea Life. That may be a projection of my
own, but nevertheless - it was one of my first thoughts upon waking up.
Music - I wonder why the music seemed like it was from South America? Was it just a background to the experience.
3. What would I like to know more about?
The jaguar at the foot/feet of the tree.
4. What action can I take to honour the dream?
Meet the jaguar at the foot/feet of the tree, in my next lucid dream.
The dream felt like definite encouragement to go and visit Mexico/Guatemala in November.
