A Car Awaits

I become lucid in my old / family home...

I rush out into the living room, and am surprised to find that outside of the window, is a big flashy car strung out across the entire front lawn. There's not much else to be seen.

At the same time as I'm seeing this brightly coloured vehicle, I hear the voice of my mum from my outside. At first I'm taken aback. Oh no, it's my mum - bothering me with me a silly question in my lucid dreams. Then I have a realisation.

Of course. My guides often come into my lucid dreams in the appearance of my mum/dad/a close family figure. That would explain the particularly prominent positioning of the car in front of the living room. All of a sudden I relax, feeling much better, thinking (of the surprised as) - "maybe we're about to go on a journey".

My 'mum' rushes into the lounge room. She almost seems suprised that I'm so 'ready' to continue.

"Hold on.. I just need to go to the bathroom".

I'm a little taken aback (shouldn't my guide be ready, already? but continue out to the back door, thinking that perhaps even spirit guides get caught up with other tasks at times.

We're about to catch up with each other when I'm dropped out of lucidity.

~ scene change ~

I'm in a classroom reading a book (presumably to children, it's a children's book). It's a Big Book, as we call them in teaching, and I'm surprised to notice that it's written in Spanish.

It's broken into lines - almost like a poem. It seems to be a fairytale. Shades of pink are emphasised along with nature-like imagery. I have this feeling like I've made a good decision reading this book. I look to the side; a small, more serious text has been cast away.

It feels good that I've been encouraging children to use their imagination. Some special part of me is breathing again.

Lightning Dreamwork

Feelings:

I felt good actually. I was tempted to try and reenter the dream, but actually felt so awake that now I'm typing it instead (even though it's very early in the morning)

Reality Check:

As I said in the dream, my 'mum' made an appearance. This made me think of a lucid dream, where I was really surprised to see my dad, but was surprised by why he was such a guiding presence in the dream.. I'd asked "So do spirit guides often show up as people we know", and my guide had replied "Yes. They're [the images of people that are close to you] like our number plates for identification". Funny in this dream then, that there was a car waiting outside. Definitely connected with the metaphor.

Knowing More:

I'm not sure there's anything else I'd like to know.

Honouring the Dream:

Just to remember the freedom of reading a fairytale story. It's not like I don't read stories like these in class - but the message for me is that I don't need to be too serious, I can break free from what I feel I'm supposed to be doing as a teacher from time to time.
